Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav has dismissed reports of any split in the party adding that his younger brother and former UP president of the party, Shivpal did not talked to him before announcing the new front . Speaking with Hindustan Times, Mulayam said ,“I have not met Shivpal for the last one week… He has not spoken to me as yet about it (the front).” When told about Shipal’s address to the media, the SP patriarch downplayed the issue saying , “As for the front, he has simply given a statement. I will talk to him, pacify him.”
Mulayam also expressed surprise over his son’s dislike for Shivpal. “He (Shivpal) is hurt. I don’t know why my son Akhilesh Yadav doesn’t like him. I will always stand by my brother who has struggled and suffered so much for me and the party,” he added
Mulayam’s remarks came a day after 62-year-old Shivpal’s announcement that he will float in a new party named-n Samajwadi Secular Morcha (SSM) under Mulayam within three months.
The posters of new political party ‘Samajwadi Secular Morcha’, formed by Shivpal Singh surfaced in Lucknow on May 6. The posters feature party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav along with Shivpal.
