Mumbai man ‘tries’ to jump like Baahubali, dies after falling in a waterfall

A man allegedly fell to his death after he allegedly tried to perform the Baahubali stunt at a waterfall. Here's what happened

Be it the death defying stunts or breathtaking visuals, Baahubali, the movie took the nation by storm ever since the first part of the franchise was released in 2015. From Baahubali merchandise to games, Baahubali fever gripped the entire nation in no time. However, in some cases, people went a bit too far in trying to imitate the reel life “Baahubali”.

In a shocking incident, a Mumbai businessman fell to his death after he allegedly tried to perform the famous “Baahubali jump” at the Mahuli waterfall in Shahapur. A number of people from Mumbai visit several forts and the famous waterfall in Shahapur. However, the police are reportedly having a hard time to avoid accidents has currently been rising in the area.

The deceased identified as Indrapal Patil was reportedly travelling to Mahuli with his friends on July 14. Eyewitnesses have claimed that the man jumped from the higher level of the waterfall and tried to stand on feet but lost his balance, slipped and went underwater. His brother, Mahendra stated that it was the police who informed them about his brother’s death.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Patil was allegedly attempting to perform the same jump Shivudu performed while he was trying to climb the “Jal Parbat” in Baahubali 1.

“Eyewitnesses informed that the deceased jumped – rather than fell – from a height, tried to land on his feet, missed and went underwater. His friends got him out. It appears that these leaps are inspired by the jump in the movie Baahubali,” a police official said.

However, the family refused to believe that 27-year-old Patil was trying to perform a stunt and have claimed that he was “pushed”. “My brother was pushed. It must have either been a planned attack, or someone might have accidentally or playfully pushed him,” his brother alleged.

Meanwhile, the police officials have asserted that this is not the first time such an incident has been reported. Senior police inspector, Mahesh Shetye claimed that the climb itself was difficult and a lot of people have slipped while crashing straight down leading to serious injuries.

“Every year during monsoon, we have our hands full with these incidents. Last month a man died of a heart attack while he was trying to climb up to the waterfall’s source,” he said.
