While speaking in the favour of Triple Talaq, president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi said that Muslims should learn from the Jallikattu protest that is happening in Tamil Nadu and that they should also plan for a similar protest in order to save their culture. Owaisi on triple talaq said,”Muslims also have their own culture and we should be allowed to marry the way we want.
Earlier too Owaisi in a tweet wrote that Jallikattu is a lesson for the hindutva forces, uniform civil code cannot be “imposed” on this nation and we cannot have one culture as we celebrate all

Owaisi had accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting into the matters of Muslims and calling the protests over Jallikattu to be a lesson for him so that PM should not bring a uniform civil code.
He earlier had said that political motive is the reason that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bringing up the topic of triple talaq. The law commission last year had asked about the views from the members of the community on the triple talaq issue which created quite a stir. Some section of the community are against the ban on triple talaq while there are many muslim women showing the support for the ban.
Last year in October, the government told the Supreme Court that “Gender equality and dignity of women are non-negotiable constitutional values” and “Religious practices cannot be an impediment to rights (available under the constitution).” The government is clear “practices of triple talaq, polygamy and nikah halala (Nikah halala is marrying a man in order to re-marry a former husband) cannot be regarded as essential part of religion and hence get no protection under fundamental right to religion.”
