Good news for the train travellers as the, AC 3-tier coach as the widely popular option for the huge number of the people is all set to get major revamp. The officials have asserted that they were not being able to redesign and make major changes in the look of the coach ever since its launch for some reason. However, they are now planning to design the entire AC 3-tier coach from “the scratch.”
According to an Indian Express report, the standard and classic colour of the blue upholstery of the Railways will be changed to beige-cream-grey colour. They are also making efforts to make the lower berths of the coach even more comfortable which apparently is one of the most difficult part. M K Gupta, General Manager of the Modern Coach Factory workshop in Rae Bareli told the daily that they were still waiting for the centre to approve the design for the first coach of the train.
Here are the other feature that may be added to the all-new AC 3-tier coach:
-A thin cushioned plank will be lodged next to the side-lower seats making the lower berths less uncomfortable. Hence, after the passengers lower his backrest, they will have to push the plank up that will only make the lower berth flat and in alignment.
– Two plug points and six USB ports for every cabin of eight berths making it easier for the passengers to use their phones and charge them on the go.
-Reading light for each berth.
-Better secure grip for the ladder to go to the upper berth.
-A Faucet is likely to replace the old chained steel mug.
-The old bottle holder will be replaced by a polished tiny plastic clip.
-CCTV cameras will be installed near doors, smoke detector alarms are some of the facilities that may be placed in the new AC 3-tier coach.
– They are also coming up with individual urinals for men in the toilets and lodge an adjustable nappy-changing table for babies.
-Passengers will no more have the difficulty to identify their location while in the train as GPS-enabled screen will be installed in all the coaches.
-The new AC 3-tier coach will also coffee-vending machines
