In a brazen display of power and arrogance, an ex-parliamentarian’s son brandished a gun in full public view over a parking tiff. The incident happened outside Delhi’s Hyatt Hotel on October 14, when the accused, Ashish Pandey took out his gun following an altercation. In the video of the incident that has gone viral, Ashish, who is the son of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP, is seen threatening a couple. He was later escorted to his car by the hotel security guards even as he continued to mouth expletives and abuses.
Ashish is a real estate dealer based in Lucknow. Delhi Police have registered a case against him under the Arms Act after a complaint was filed by the hotel’s security manager. “A male is seen brandishing a weapon in the footage. Accordingly, a case under section 25/27 (Arms Act) of the IPC has been registered. Efforts are on to identify the person. Legal action is being taken as per law,” DCP (southwest) Devender Arya said.
