The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday came down heavily on all the municipal bodies of Delhi for not taking any strong measures to control chikunguniya and dengue, ANI reported.
“What were you doing for the past two months? It looks like you don’t have an action plan,” the tribunal is said to have told New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).
“Why don’t Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi government and NDMC sit together on the issue of these diseases and draft an action plan,” the panel directed the civic bodies.
The NGT also asked the concerned municipal officials to be present next week to provide a feedback on what administrative steps have been taken to control the disease.
