Not Just Kerala, Even Karnataka Is Battling Floods

Five districts have been hit due to incessant rainfall and landslides.

As Kerala continues to battle the worst flood since 1924, its neighbouring state Karnataka is also facing dealing with a natural disaster. Incessant rainfall has wreaked a havoc in the state, triggering landslides at many places. A total of five districts have been affected with Kodagu, which borders north Kerala being the worst hit. Till now, six people have lost their lives.

Police and officials from the National Disaster Response Force are carrying out the rescue operations. The armed forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) have also been deployed to assist the rescue operations. More than 2,500 people have been evacuated and taken to safer places.

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said that the situation is under control. He has also announced a relief package of Rs 200 crore to those affected. However, the state government has appealed for assistance from all quarters. One can donate to the
