From beggars being swept under flyovers to impress visiting heiresses to mistaking an ambulance for your Audi, there are certain things that only Indians are capable of.

Here are 6 instances where we have proved that we are a race unlike any other.

1) Delhi Metro’s driverless train hits a wall

Yes, sometimes we are so incompetent that we make even inanimate objects do unimaginable things. Recently, Delhi Metro was testing its driverless train on the newly constructed Magenta Line when it crashed into a wall inside the premises of the Kalindi Kunj station. Two coaches were badly damaged in the incident. According to a statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the train was moved out of the workshop without testing the brake system, which led to the accident, NDTV reported.

DMRC has ordered a ‘high-level‘ inquiry into the matter– wonder what that means!

2) Drunk Chennai man drives ambulance home confusing it with his Audi
You remember the time you mistook an ambulance for an Audi? No? Well, a man drove his injured friend to a corporate hospital in Chennai’s Thousand Lights on Sunday, December 17. While driving back home, he drove the hospital’s ambulance instead of his Audi. Interestingly, it wasn’t till he had reached his home in Palavakkam, which is 13 Km away from the hospital, did he realise his mistake (*slow claps*).

Meanwhile, suspecting that the ambulance had been stolen, the hospital lodged the complaint with the Thousand Lights police, The New Indian Express reported. Soon after, a man drove the ambulance back to the hospital and apologised saying that his boss had mistakenly driven it home.

3)  Diego Maradona unveils a statute of Susan Boyle in Kolkata. Wait, what?

Recently, a Kolkata club  honoured Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona by unveiling his 12-feet-long statue of Susan Boyle. The statue, which was meant to resemble the 1986 World Cup-winning captain looked nothing like the legend.

Needless to say, the good people of Twitter had a thing or two to say about this.

We know what happened, someone in Kumartuli, the artist’s colony of Kolkata, must have eaten one rosogolla too many for lunch.

4) Rajya Sabha MP loses Rs 27,000 after revealing OTP to crooks on phone
Cyber experts have repeatedly warned against the misuse of Aadhaar. But if their warnings weren’t enough to draw your attention, this headline surely would.

So, former Punjab Congress chief and Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Dullo was duped of Rs 27,000 by cybercrooks. According to a report by The Times of India, Dullo got a call from a man claiming to be a bank manager. He convinced Dullo to reveal an OTP sent to his phone on the pretext of linking his bank account with the Aadhaar card.

Once he revealed the OTP, the man disconnected the call. Soon after he got a message from the bank that a sum of Rs 27,000 had been withdrawn from his account (*that hurt so much*).

Point? Never reveal your OTP to anyone unless you are Richie Rich!

5) ‘Dancing MLA’ hits the streets with his 100-people strong troupe in Coimbatore
In the age of the Internet, politicians are using creative tactics for campaigning ahead of the elections. But never have they resorted to dancing on the streets for campaigning– UNTIL NOW.

Apparently, AIADMK legislator from Kavundampalayam in Coimbatore V C Arukutty took to the streets with his troupe of 100 dancers to campaign for his party ahead of RK Nagar by polls, reports suggest. Interestingly, his troupe, which include members of his family, also included at least 64 drums (that’s a lot of noise!).

Whoever said election campaigning is getting monotonous didn’t see this guy in action!

6) Jammu man shocked on seeing his picture among dead terrorists
Goofups are common. But what if you woke up one day and saw your photo being circulated with those of the dead terrorists?

Jammu-based barbeque seller Abdul Majid found himself in a similar situation when he found his photo among the six Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists killed in Bandipora last month. “I was shocked on seeing my picture among the dead terrorists in electronic and print media,” he told TOI. He has now filed a case with the local police station to clear his name (sympathies bro!).
