A Pakistani woman is all set to come to India for her wedding after India finally grants her the visa. It has been long since she was waiting for the visa so as to get married to an Indian resident. Now, 25-year-old Sadia who hails from Karachi will tie the knot in August to Lucknow based Syed Shariq Hashmi (28).
Earlier too, Sadia applied for an Indian visa for herself, mother and her brother but could not get one. It was when her story was brought to the notice of the Home Ministry, the ministry sought the details and finally issued visas for the family.
On getting the visa, elated Sadia said, “I have got the visa to travel from Attari border by train and I couldn’t have been more thankful. We faced a tough time ever since we began the visa process last year and our application kept getting rejected, repeatedly”.The three members of the family will soon be boarding Samjhauta Express from Pakistan for their journey to Delhi and then will come to Lucknow.

An official at the HMO said, “Home minister Rajnath Singh spoke directly to the minister of external affairs Sushma Swaraj on the issue. The visa came through after the MEA contacted the Indian High Commission (IHC)”.

As soon as the news about it reached to Sadia, she contacted the IHC in Islamabad but they said that they do not have any information regarding the matter, however, after some time Sadia got a call from them asking her to send in the passports which were returned to her with Indian visa within two days.
