In a shocking incident, a Paralympic swimmer identified as Binod Singh was found dead Bhagalpur district of Bihar on January 23. While the exact cause of the death has not been ascertained as yet the police suspect that he was strangulated to death.
The police confirmed that the deceased athlete’s body was found in the orchard in Lacho village. The police further asserted that there is a possibility that 30-year-old Binod was killed 5 days ago and he was strangulated to death. The police has sent his body for post mortem.
Binod’s father has filed an FIR in at Sachivalaya Police Station in Patna. The swimmer’s family also suspects a case of kidnapping and murder. However, his father has claimed that Binod was in a relationship with a fellow sportsperson and her family objected to their relationship. The police has launched a manhunt and are making efforts to nab the accused.
