Paresh Rawal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and renowned Bollywood actor has raked a storm on Twitter after he tweeted that author Arundhati Roy should be tied to the army jeep instead of the “stone pelter”.
However, the reason why Paresh Rawal made such a remark against the author of the God of Small Things has not been ascertained as yet. “Instead of tying stone pelter on the army jeep tie Arundhati Roy!”, Paresh Rawal tweeted. A number of people on social media lashed out on Paresh Rawal and asserted that such tweets were could also incite violence in the country.
The BJP MP made the comment in reference to a video from the restive Jammu and Kashmir that went viral on social. In the video, you could see a man being tied to an army jeep and was used a “human shield” against stone pelters in the state.

However, some of the Twitter users did extend their support to the actor and thanked him for “supporting” India.
Paresh Rawal is a member of the Lok Sabha and has made a number of controversial remarks in the past as well. Arundhati Roy shot to fame in 1997 when her novel The God of Small Things released and won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction. 20 years after God of Small Things was published, Arundhati Roy is all set to be back with her latest novel, Ministry of Utmost happiness.
