The Lok Sabha committee found AAP Lawmaker Bhagwant Mann guilty of breaching the security of the house on Tuesday. The committee will submit its final report to the Lok Sabha speaker on Wednesday.
Mann triggered row in July after he live-streamed the security arrangements at the Parliament House complex on social media. He had also made a video of the procedure of drawing lots for selecting members’ questions for listing.
However, he defended himself saying that he was only showing how the parliament functions.
Mann drew flak from several quarters with the opposition leaders demanding a stern action against him. He also tendered an apology in the house saying that it was “unintentional” and he was trying to make an “educational video”.
Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan constituted a nine-member committee, to probe the Bhagwant Mann issue amidst uproar in both the houses of the parliament. He was also asked not to attend the house till the committee takes an appropriate decision.
While giving a commentary as he entered the Parliament was Mann was heard saying, “I’ll show you today something you would not have seen earlier,”in the video. He then started to describe the procedure of picking up questions in the parliament.
The AAP MP from Sangrur is currently campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
He was also recently in the news after a group of media persons filed a complaint against him and his supporters alleging that he had misbehaved with them and used questionable remarks against them.
