In a shocking incident, two pastors were attacked and humiliated at a temple in Tamil Nadu. The incident happened on the premises of Arulmigu Mutharamman temple in Kanyakumari when miscreants smeared their faces with holy ash and kumkum. Police did not file an FIR as they claimed that the dispute was mutually resolved.
Tamil Nadu has witnessed a spurt in hate crimes against Christians. Nearly 30 incidents of attack on the minority community and vandalism of churches occurred in the year 2017. Last week, Hundreds of members of the community observed a fast in Salem and demanded stringent action against the forces which indulge in activities spreading communal hatred.
