NIA(National Investigation Assembly) who has been investigating the horrifying Pathankot attack that took place on January 2, 2016, will file a chargesheet today in Mohali to prove JeM(Jaish-e-Mohammed)’s role in the attack.
Four terrorists and two handlers have been named in the case. These terrorists include JeM leader Maulana Masood Azhar , JeM chief MA Rauf Asghar, two handlers – Qashif Jan and Shaid Latif, Masood Azhar being named as the mastermind. The telephonic conversation of four terrorists will be enveloped in the chargesheet . It will also include the financial details of JeM- the Pakistan based Deobandi Jihadist group which is also active in Kashmir.
As per the reports, the chargesheet will also include the corroboration of one of the terrorist’s footprints obtained from Bamiyal along with the DNA sample that is found from a soft-drink can. The can was recovered from the hijacked car of a Punjab Superintendent.
The proofs against JeM have been shared with Pakistan but the country has not yet responded back.
Earlier this year, four terrorists entered India from Bamiyal area of Gurdaspur and attacked Pathankot Indian Air Force base thereby killing eight people including seven personnel of NSG and IAF.
