Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the indomitable spirit and determination of women power on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8. Honouring the work of women Sarpanchs who have worked towards Clean India campaign, PM Modi will address a conclave in Gandhinagar, Gujarat today. PM Modi took to the microblogging site Twitter and posted a series of tweets.
PM Modi tweeted, “Looking forward to addressing a conclave of women Sarpanchs and honouring trailblazers who have worked towards a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.”
He said, “Saluting the indomitable spirit, determination & dedication of Nari Shakti on International Women’s Day.”

He will honour and give awards to the women sarpanch for their contribution in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The aim behind organising this event is to motivate women and increase their involvement with this campaign.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was officially launched on October 2, 2014 by PM Modi himself. The campaign aims to clean the streets, roads and other infrastructure across the country.
