Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally addressed the nation on 31 December a day after his 50-day deadline of bringing back stability across the nation, post demonetisation ended.
People across the country went bonkers as soon as the reports of Prime Minister addressing the nation surfaced with people scared to bits wondering what the Prime Minister was going to announce next. However, as opposed to what people thought the Prime Minister did not make a massive announcement like the one made on 8 November, demonetisation.
He went on to address the nation post note ban and showed the roadmap after demonetisation. He also announced a number of schemes the government was taking after note ban.

-Bank employees and authorities along with people have done extraordinary work during demonetisation and I am aware that there have been reports of a few indulging in corruption. I assure you that these people will not be spared.
-Loans of up to 9 lakh rupees taken in 2017 will receive interest subvention of 4 per cent.

-The number of houses being built for the poor, under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana in rural areas, is being increased by 33 per cent.
-Loans of up to 2 lakh rupees taken in 2017 for new housing, or extension of housing in rural areas will receive an interest subvention of 3 per cent.
-3 crore farmers who have Kisan Credit Cards, will be given RuPay debit cards within three months.

-The credit guarantee for small traders and medium enterprises will be raised to Rs 2 Crore.

-Rs 6000 will be given to pregnant women as assistance and the money will be transferred directly to their bank account.
-The government has asked the government to raise cash credit limit to small business to 25% from 20%.

-The government has also taken cognisance of the senior citizens and they will be ensured 8% interest on their deposits upto Rs 7.5 Lakh.
Apart from announcing relief measures for the farmers and the poor, the Prime Minister urged the youth of the country to use and connect with BHIM app launched by the government yesterday. He concluded by asking the people to welcome the new year together for brighter future of the nation.
