Prime Minister Narendra Modi crossed 10 million followers on Instagram, continuing his reign as the most followed global leader on the photo-sharing app. Though the Prime Minister does not follow anyone, he has posted various pictures with world leaders including US President Donald Trump, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) joined Instagram on November 12, 2014, and has since then posted 152 videos and pictures. His first photo was from the 25th ASEAN Summit in Myanmar and was captioned as, “Hello World! Great being on Instagram. My first photo…this one from the ASEAN Summit.”

In April 2017, Modi was named the most followed leader on Instagram. The second most followed world leader is US President Donald Trump with 7.8 million followers with 2472 pictures. Pope Francis is the third most followed leader with 4.9 million followers and 467 posts.
