Prime Minister Modi on Monday in an emotional speech had recalled how he sacrificed his family for the sake of the nation. While defending the decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and 500 notes, Modi said he was not born to sit on the chair of high office, but to serve the nation. He appealed to the people to bear hardships as it would help build a corruption-free country in the longer run.
PM Modi is emotionally attached to his mother and regularly visits her in Gandhinagar. On his 67th birthday, he posted pictures of him seeking blessings from her mother.

It should be recalled that Modi’s 96-year-old mother paid him a visit in May for the first time since he became the Prime Minister. He had tweeted the picture of the time spent with his mother at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg (then RCR).
