AIADMK Presidium Chairperson E Madhusudhanan on 2 January filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking rejection of petitions filed by Sasikala Pushpa.
AIADMK in their petition has said that Sasikala Pushpa had no rights to a file petition as she is not a party member. Sasikala Pushpa moved the Supreme Court seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into Jayalalithaa’s death. She has alleged that the late AIADMK chief’s death was “suspicious”. She also claimed that Jayalalithaa’s funeral photographs showed embalming marks adding that all her treatment details were kept under wraps.
The expelled party worker Sasikals Pushpa had also filed a petition against the appointment of Sasikala Natarajan as the general secretary of the AIADMK. Pushpa in her suit has submitted that the primary eligibility to contest the election to the post of General Secretary was that the contestant must have been a primary member of the party continuously for five years as per the AIADMK bye-laws and Sasikala did not fulfil this norm.
Pushpa was expelled from the AIADMK after an altercation with DMK MP Tiruchi Siva at the Delhi airport in July.
Recently, Sasikala Pushpa’s lawyer was allegedly attacked outside the party office by AIADMK workers. It was learned that four lawyers from Sasikala Pushpa’s team had reached the party office to submit a letter where they were attacked by AIADMK workers and created an ugly scene.
