Edappadi K Palanisamy has been elected as the new legislative party leader of AIADMK.

After the Supreme Court awarded Sasikala Natarajan four-year imprisonment in disproportionate assets case on February 14, Edappadi K Palanisamy has emerged as the new face of the AIADMK.

As Chinnamma is now ineligible to contest the elections and form a government after the judgement, Palanisamy has been elected as the new legislative party leader of the party. Now, he will stake claim to from the government in Tamil Nadu.

Palanisamy is a low profile minister with a clean image in Tamil Nadu. Before surrendering in the Bengaluru trail court, Sasikala held a meeting at Golden Bay resort and appointed Palanisamy as the new AIADMK chief and expelled O. Panneerselvam from the party.

Palanisamy is an active member of the AIADMK.
He is presently serving as Minister for Highways & Minor Ports in the Government of Tamil Nadu.
He is the sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Edapadi in the Salem district, Tamil Nadu legislative assembly.
He has been appointed as the new legislative party leader of AIADMK on February 14.
