All exit polls conducted by various TV channels are predicting clear majority for Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.

While News 24, predicted a maximum of 135 seats to the BJP in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly, the lowest of 99-113 was given by India Today in the state which has been ruled by the party for the last 22 years.

According to Times Now-VMR exit polls: BJP seems getting 109 seats out 182 seats in Gujarat, while Congress is expected to get 70 seats and others are expected to get 3 seats. Republic TV’s exit poll suggests a similar trend to Times Now in Gujarat. It predicts 108 seats for the BJP and 74 for the Congress.

SAHARA SAMAY-CNX survey also says the BJP will retain power in Gujarat. It has predicted 110-120 seats for the saffron party and 65-75 seats for the Congress. The halfway mark in the 182-seat Gujarat Assembly is 92.

ABP CSDS figures, show Congress winning 64 seats while BJP once again ruling Gujarat winning 117 seats.

Psephologist-turned-politician Yogendra Yadav weighed in on the exit polls. “Am surprised, but no reason to disbelieve all exit polls, since they all point in the same direction. We can’t still be sure of seats, but it seems clear that BJP enjoys an edge in Gujarat,” he said in a Tweet.

Gujarat witnessed a high pitch poll campaigning by BJP and Congress with both the parties locking horns over issues ranging from vikas, demonetisation and GST to unemployment and rural distress.
