Levelling fresh charges against RJD chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Modi has accused Lalu’s son. and Bihar health minister Tej Pratap Yadav of illegally acquiring a petrol pump in Patna by misrepresenting land ownership deals.
Modi has held almost a dozen press conferences to disclose the illegal assets of the Yadav clan, ever since he made the first ‘expose’ on April 4. The senior BJP leader has accused Lalu’s family of illegally acquiring over Rs 1,000 crore through Benami deals.
According to a report in DNA, Modi has alleged that Tej Pratap had been illegally allotted a Bharat Petroleum petrol pump near Beur in Patna, in 2011, based on false documents furnished by him. He alleged that the Bihar health minister didn’t have 43 decimal of land on New Bypass Road in 2011 when he had appeared for an interview before the petrol pump authorities.
However, AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd on January 9, 2012, gave 136 decimal of land on lease at the same place for opening a petrol pump to Tej Pratap’s younger brother and Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Modi alleged adding that as per the lease deed, Tejashwi cannot “sub-let” the said land.
The former Deputy CM of Bihar has questioned as to how can Tej Pratap be allotted a petrol pump when he didn’t have the land nor the lease in his name. He alleged that some official of the oil company was also involved for facilitating the deal.
Modi is expected to raised this issue with Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, and demand a thorough probe into the matter.
The saffron party will soon launch a statewide agitation against corruption. Reacting to the allegations, the Rashtriya Janta Dal has accused Modi of misleading the people through “false documents”.
