The government on Tuesday announced a new list of smart cities, taking the total number of cities to get the makeover under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Smart City Mission to 60.
The third list of smart cities was announced by Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu
Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu while making the announcement of the smart-cities said that 63 cities participated in the competition that was held to identify the 27 smart-cities.
Some of the cities included in the new list of smart-cities are- Agra, Ajmer, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Gwalior, Kanpur, Kota, Nashik, Salem, Varanasi and Vellore.
