Jayalalithaa’s ‘son’ shows up, claims Sasikala killed her: Important facts surrounding Amma’s death

A man claiming to be the son of deceased Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa has shown up in the picture of Tamil Nadu state politics, further alleging that his “mother” was killed by her aide V Sasikala. The emergence of Krishnamurthy, a resident of Erode district in Tamil Nadu, happens more than three months after the former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) head breathed her last at a private hospital in Chennai.

Krishnamurthy alleged that Jayalalithaa was pushed down the stairs at her Poes Garden residence in Chennai by Sasikala, following a heated argument between the two.

“My mother wanted to introduce me as her son to the world and knowing this, an argument broke out between her and Sasikala,” Krishnamurthy was quoted as saying by India Today, which broke the news.

The man revealed that he had filed a complaint with the state chief secretary claiming that he was the rightful owner of Jayalalithaa’s estate. Krishnamurthy said that he had spent time with the late CM at her iconic Poes Garden residence, two months before her death.

Krishnamurthy’s claim of Jayalalithaa having been pushed down the stairs was first made by a former AIADMK speaker PH Pandian, who had also demanded a probe in his leader’s “mysterious” death.

It is not the first time that somebody has cried conspiracy in the death of the former Tamil Nadu CM. Jayalalithaa’s loyal supporter and last Tamil Nadu chief minister O. Panneerselvam also alleges foul play in her death.

According to India Today, Krishnamurthy is currently staying with a friend of Jayalalithaa, Vanithamani.

An AIADMK MP, PR Sundaram, also demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in Jayalalithaa’s death this week, during his speech in Lok Sabha.

The Tamil Nadu government has already revealed circumstances surrounding the former CM’s death in a bid to clear the air over allegations of foul play.

According to hospital records, Jayalalithaa died on Dec 5 after 75 days of hospitalisation. She was found breathless by paramedics at her residence around 10 PM on Sept 22. Her initial diagnosis revealed that she was suffering from dehydration and respiratory distress.
