Not just Opposition leaders, even a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has alleged that industrialists had prior information of a ban to be imposed on the currency beforehand.
BJP MLA from Ladpura in Rajasthan’s Kota district Bhawani Singh Rajawat has claimed that “Ambani, Adani and the others” had prior knowledge of the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.
“Adani, Ambani atram-satram in sab ko pehle hi pata tha. Inko hint de diya gaya. Unhone apna kar liya (Adani, Ambani and others had prior information. They had been given a hint and they got their work done accordingly),” Rajawat is being seen saying in a video that was released online on Wednesday.

However, he later claimed that he did not say anything that is being shown in video. He also said that the conversation was only part of an informal interaction.
He also criticised how the demonetisation move was implemented and said better planning was needed.
“Poori currency aap print karte. Desh ki aabadi aur uske anupat mein currency print karte, uske baad mein aap ek saath..ab petrol pump ki keematon ki tarah aaj 12 baje 500 aur 1000 ka note band ho jayega. (You should have printed the new currency first and then announced the move. But just like change in petrol prices are announced, you said Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 will be invalid from midnight),” he said.
