Soon after O Panneerselvam made a startling revelation saying that he was “forced” to resign by Sasikala Natarajan, he was sacked from the post of the AIADMK treasurer. Dindigul Sreenivasan has replaced O Panneerselvam. However, Sasikala refuted allegations and said that she had not forced Panneerselvam to resign and what he was saying was absolutely “incorrect”.
Sasikala has also hinted to remove him from the other posts and also take away the AIADMK membership. Sasikala has also alleged that Panneerselvam is joining hands with the opposition parties. “No confusion or problem in our party, we are united like a family,” Sasikala said.

The development comes days after the AIADMK elected Sasikala as the Legislature party leader and announced that she will be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Amid uproar over Sasikala Natarajan being elevated as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, former TN CM Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar came out to tell that people of the state do not want Sasikala to be the Chief Minister. Asserting that she will herself contest elections, Deepa slammed Sasikala’s elevation saying that it will be sad if she becomes the Chief Minister.
After Panneerselvam resigned as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Sasikala came out to say that it was Paneerselvam who urged her to take charge as the Chief Minister of the state. Sasikala, who was once sacked from AIADMK’s primary membership by Jayalalithaa for anti-party activities, is leading the AIADMK, the second largest opposition party in the Lok Sabha with 37 members. Meanwhile, her sudden elevation has invited criticism from several quarters with the opposition party claiming that she was not appointed by the people of the state.
