Seeing the true faces of AAP’s remnants as it’s ship sinks, says Prashant Bhusan after Kapil Mishra accuses Kejriwal of bribery

Prominent lawyer Prashant Bhushan had co-founded the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012, stating that the other political parties were corrupt.

Former Delhi water resources minister Kapil Mishra today sparked a big controversy after he accused Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal of bribery. The sacked Delhi minister alleged today that he witnessed Health Minister Satyendar Jain give Kejriwal Rs 2 crore in cash.

Kapil Mishra also claimed that he informed Delhi’s Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) about this transaction immediately. Yesterday, when he went to meet the AAP chief, Mishra told him he’s informed the ACB. Mishra implied that’s why he was sacked from his ministerial posts yesterday by Kejriwal.

Following the huge allegations, former AAP leader Prashant Bhushan, who was very instrumental in building AAP, took to Twitter and expresed his disappoinment. He wrote, “The true test of character comes in adversity. We are now seeing the true faces of AAP’s remnants as it’s ship sinks. What an opportunity lost.”

Bhushan had co-founded the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012, stating that the other political parties were corrupt. Before the 2015 Delhi elections, Bhushan accused Kejriwal of selecting candidates of his own choice and that he was biased, which didn’t go down well with the AAP chief.

After the elections, on March 4, 2015, Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav were voted out of Political Affairs Committee of Aam Aadmi Party for alleged anti-party activities and for working toward the party’s defeat in the Delhi elections.

On March 28, 2015, they were dropped from the National Executive Council of the AAP following a vote, at a meeting the conduct of which was afterwards disputed by Bhushan. In April 2015, they were expelled from the party by AAP’s disciplinary committee.

He and Yogendra Yadav have formed a new political movement called Swaraj Abhiyan, which performed poorly in MCD elections this year.
