The TMC workers also marched towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence a protest against the arrest of TMC MPs.
Hours after TMC MP and lawmaker Sudip Bandyopadhyay was arrested on January 2, the Bhartiya Janata Party headquarters in Kolkata was allegedly attacked by the Trinamool congress student wing workers. Earlier today, TMC supporters also staged a rail-roko protest in Cooch Behar.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blamed the central government over the arrest of the TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay. Mamata Banerjee slammed PM Modi saying that he does not understand politics and he has purposely got TMC leader arrested because she protested against demonetisation drive.
This is the second TMC MP to be arrested in the Rose Valley case. While visiting the CBI office for questioning, Sudip had claimed that it was only vendetta politics and that he was ready to face interrogation with honesty.
The arrest came just days after Bengali film actor and TMC MP Tapas Paul was arrested by the CBI after he reached the CBI office.
