The entire country is struggling with the heatwave that’s seemingly is more brutal than previous years. But since the country is in the midst of a high stakes election, candidates have been out and about campaigning for themselves. In the scorching heat of Kolkata, however, campaigning seems to have taken a strange turn. This TMC candidate, not too keen on stepping out on the hot streets, did something that’s now made him a viral star on social media.
Trinamool Congress candidate, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, came up with a ‘unique’ idea of using his own statue for campaigning instead of going out himself. In a video shared by a Twitter user, TMC workers can be seen moving around the city on an open air jeep with a statue of Banerjee while chanting slogans in his support.
Here’s the video:

The ‘innovative’ idea has triggered a range of reactions on Twitter
What Arrogance? Doesn’t even have the humility to ask for votes himself. Does he think that people are his jagir and they have to vote him by default?

That is quite a brilliant thought . Innovation at its best . If he loses election he should start a start up .

Highly entitled and public that will vote for such people doesn’t deserve democracy either.
