Following the controversy stirred by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by giving new connotation to the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), the Samajwadi Party (SP) lashed out at the UP CM and said that the former’s remark supports the accusation made by the opposition on the EVM tampering.
“This simply means he is just supporting our accusation that there is some fault in the EVM, which is why every vote is going to BJP. If this is the case, immediate inquiry should be done on the same. The EVM should be analysed that whether the assumption made by the people are correct or not. If a question has been raised in a democratic country, then should be answered based on evidences,” said Samajwadi Party leader Juhi Singh.
Echoing similar sentiments, another Congress leader Dwijendra Tripathi said Yogi Adityanath statement proves that there is something wrong with the voting machine.
“If all the votes are casted in favour of Prime Minister then there is no need to conduct such type of elections. It has never happened in the entire world that a party has a party got 100% vote in any elections, so how is it happening in India,” Tripathi said.
Adityanath on Saturday gave a new connotation to the EVM and asserted that the MCD polls proved that it stood for ‘Every Vote Modi’.
“The citizens of Delhi in the recent MCD polls have proved that EVM stands for ‘ Every Vote Modi’,” said Yogi Adityanath, addressing party workers in Gorakhpur.
Further taking a jibe at all the ministers who objected on the red beacon ban, Adityanath stated that whoever didn’t respect the law could leave Uttar Pradesh.
“We had urged earlier too that people who do not respect the law can leave Uttar Pradesh. There has been a transformation in the law and order situation in the State and this will continue in the future too. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put a full stop to the VVIP culture in the country and everyone should respect that and abide by it,” Adityanath said.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Adityanath laid the foundation for several schemes. This is the second tour of Yogi’s to Gorakhpur visit since he became the Chief Minister.
