The murder mystery of the seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur of Ryan International School is getting murkier by the day. In yet another startling twist to the case, the victim’s lawyer, Sushil Thekriwal has alleged that Delhi Police officers attacked him and his wife to intimidate him into giving up the case.
Latest development
According to a report by the Indian Today, the incident took place at around 8:30 PM on the evening of November 24 when the lawyer went to the Ashoka Hotel in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area to have dinner with his family. Thekriwal has also alleged that the cops also threatened to kill him if he didn’t give up the case.
In a letter to the Delhi’s Commissioner of Police, Thekriwal wrote,
The constable put his gun towards us and Inspector Yadav groped me, attacked me, assaulted me, thrashed me, kicked from inside by butt and boot and I was down on the earth and attempted to kill from the gun. He screamed that both of us will be killed since we are dealing with Ryan Murder Case/Pradhyumn Case and threatened to leave the case otherwise we will be subjected to dire consequences.

He said that the cops did not stop even after he introduced himself as a Supreme Court lawyer. In fact, when he asked his wife Dr Mamta Thekriwal to shoot a video of the incident, the cops allegedly attacked her as well.
The lawyer has identified one of the cops to be Sanjiv Kumar Yadav from the nameplate on his uniform.
Police deny accusation
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have denied all the accusations saying that it was Thekriwal who misbehaved with them when he was asked to wait for a few minutes on account of the VVIP movement in the area.

Background
Pradyuman Thakur’s body was found in a pool of blood outside the washroom of Ryan International School on September 8. Soon after, the Gurugram police arrested the school bus conductor Ashok Kumar claiming they had solved the case.
However, the Haryana government ordered a CBI probe following a public outrage. Soon after, CBI apprehended a Class XI student in connection with the case and gave Ashok Kumar a clean chit owing to the lack of evidence.
