President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday lashed out at the members of both the houses of the parliament for disrupting the parliament proceedings.
The President said that he does not intend to accuse any individual but parliament disruption has become a practice.
Asserting that number of bills were still pending in the house, the President said that, the women reservation bill is still pending for a long time due to continuous disruption in Parliament and representation of women is terribly low. It is not at all acceptable.
Yesterday, With the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha being adjourned every other day after uproar by the members of the house over the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive, senior BJP leader, LK Advani also slammed out the speaker and the Modi government.
Advani said that he was extremely disappointed with the way Lok Sabha proceedings were being disrupted due to protests. He further said that neither the Speaker nor the Parliamentary Affairs Minister was running the House.
Parliament is being stalled for the consecutive days due to uproar by the opposition partied who are demanding a debate on demonetisation and PM Modi’s presence in the parliament. However, protests continued even after the Prime Minister was present in parliament. BJP leaders have also said that they were also ready to have a discussion over demonetization.
