Congress President who has constantly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, lashed out at him on Tuesday saying that the society has already become cashless because of this move.
Launching a scathing attack on the Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi said that the commoners are somehow managing to get Rs 2000 but the “thieves” who want to withdraw Rs 50 to Rs 100 crores are illegally taking out money out of the banks.
While addressing locals in the Dadri district if Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi said that the Prime Minister is confused with the motive of this move saying that he had earlier said that the drive was undertaken to fight the black money menace but now says that he aims to have a cashless economy.

Speaking in reference to Vijay Mallya, the Congress Vice President further said that the Modi government was backing the big businessmen who had taken Rs 8 crore loan from banks and was in no mood to return.
“A few big businessmen have taken Rs 8 lakh crore loans from banks, which they are not paying back. The Prime Minister cannot get back money from them as they were the ones to market him. Following which, PM has made you stand in lines for banks to function,” Rahul Gandhi said.
