In a first, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “acting like a PM” after India conducted surgical strike against Pakistan on Wednesday night.
“I want to thank Modi that for the first time in two-and-half years, he has taken an action that is of the stature of PM,” Rahul said.

Rahul also said that the entire country and the Congress party back Modi for taking the decision to conduct the surgical strikes.
Rahul, who has been criticising Modi during his ongoing Deoria to Delhi ‘kisan yatra’, was all praise for the Prime Minister a day after India carried out surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across the LoC with the Army inflicting “significant casualties” on terrorists preparing to infiltrate from PoK.
He also paid tributes to the jawans who were prepared to make the supreme sacrifice to safeguard the country.
Rahul accused Pakistan of being responsible for the attack while apportioning blame on the NDA government’s “politics” for it. “The first responsibility is on Pakistan and the government’s politics,” he said.
