Robert Vadra hits out at media, says ‘don’t take your fight with me to my mother’

There have been reports doing the rounds that as many as six Delhi Police personnel had been deployed at Vadra's house in New Friends Colony for past 13 years

Hitting out at the media for going after his mother, Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra on Wednesday asked reporters not to “hound” his mother. His reaction comes after his mother’s security was taken away by Delhi Police. However, the police neither confirmed nor denied the reports.

On his Facebook, Robert Vadra wrote: “There are more civilised ways of changing things than running a media tirade in which a senior citizen is hounded and the media is informed even before the people concerned are regarding security arrangements for them. My mother never asked for this provision and I am sure its removal will at least save her from the embarrassment and discomfort she always felt over the unnecessary inconvenience they sometimes caused to others despite her requests not to do so. I reiterate…pls don’t take your fight with me to my mother at least.”

This is not the first time that Robert Vadra has asked media to stay away from asking questions from his mother. “Really!! We have to stoop to the levels of now demeaning and harassing, elderly people…With all respect, please stop going after my mother…Pls remove my security n anything provided for me…” Vadra had written on his Facebook last week.

There have been reports doing the rounds that as many as six Delhi Police personnel had been deployed at the Vadra’s house in New Friends Colony for past 13 years. The security was provided during the tenure of UPA-I. A total amount of Rs 1 crore was being spent for maintaining the security cover.
