Indian businessman and husband of Priyanka Gandhi, Robert Vadra on January 25 lashed out at BJP Leader Vinay Katiyar saying that his sexist comment on his wife only shows the mindset of certain politicians. He further demanded a public apology from the Minister.
“His comments exposes shameful mindset of some political leaders. Vinay Katiyar should publically apologise for his remarks,” he said.
Soon after the BJP leader Vinay Katiyar took a jibe Priyanka Gandhi by saying that he could get better star campaigner for the upcoming elections and that there were prettier women, she hits back on the leader and said his comments shows the BJP mindset towards India’s women.
“These comments by Vinay Katiyar shows the ruling party BJP’s mindset towards women in India. My colleagues have battled hardships to get where they are now,” she said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, BJP leader Vinay Katiya joined the league of sexists politicians and took a jibe at Priyanka Gandhi saying that he could get better star campaigner for the upcoming elections and that there were prettier women.
Former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior Congress leader Sheila dixit too condemned the remark and said that the statement was totally uncalled for and it exposes BJP’s mindset
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal too lashed out at the leader, she said that there is a need for a law so that politician’s making such sexist remarks can be expelled. She also demanded that the FIR should be lodged against Katiyar.
Katiyar, however, refused to apologise for the statement that he made on Priyanka Gandhi.
On January 24 Janta Dal (United) leader, Sharad Yadav too made a bizarre statement while addressing the gathering of people in Bihar, he said ‘it is necessary to understand the importance of ballot paper. The integrity of the vote is bigger than the integrity of daughter’.
