Rupee 1 note is all set to make a comeback with brand new features soon. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon print the new one rupee note with new specifications. As per reports, the new one rupee that will soon be put into circulation will be a legal tender. “The Reserve Bank of India will soon put into circulation currency notes in one rupee denomination,” the central bank said in a statement.
The printing of one rupee note was discontinued by the government in the year 1994 and only one rupee coins were issued. Here’s all you need to know about the new Re 1 note that will be return after more than 20 years.
-The colour of Re 1 note will predominantly be pink and green colour.
-Representation of one Rupee coin with rupee symbol having floral design will also be on the note
-The printing of Rs 1 note was apparently stopped back in 1994 due to higher printing cost. . Printing of Rs 2 and Rs 5 notes too were discontinued in 1995.
-The note will also bear the picture of ‘Sagar Samrat’ the oil exploration platform
-The year ‘2017’ will be mentioned on the reverse side of the note
-While the other notes are issued by the RBI, the one rupee note will be issued by the central government.
-While rest of the notes bear the signature of the RBI Governor the one rupee currency note will bear the signature of Secretary in the Ministry of Finance., Shaktikanta Das.
-As per the official statement, the numbering will be in black colour and will be placed at right-hand bottom side of the note.
-Re 1 note that will be issued by the central government will be 9.7 by 8.3 cm
-‘Bharat’ will be printed vertically on the ride side of the note
