Sasikala will get lifetime imprisonment if Jayalalithaa's death probed: MK Stalin

DMK is also protesting against the trust vote won by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami.

Launching a direct attack on Sasikala, who is currently lodged in Bengaluru jail over disproportionate assets case for over 3 years, MK Staling, DMK leader, has said that the AIADMK leader will get lifetime imprisonment if Jayalalithaa’s death will be probed.

Stalin, who is on a hunger strike to protest against the ruckus that took place in the Tamil Nadu Assembly during the floor test, was addressing the party workers in Trichy. Stalin said: “If proper probe takes place into Jayalalithaa’s death, the person who’s in jail for 4 yrs now will be awarded lifetime imprisonment.”

DMK is also protesting against the trust vote won by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palanisamy. DMK had on February 20 filed a petition in Madras High Court challenging the trust vote.

Speaking about his hunger strike, Stalin said: “Hunger protest which we are undertaking today is not for us. It is against ‘benami’ rule established in Tamil Nadu.”

Earlier on February 14, Sasikala Natarajan surrendered before the Bengaluru court. The Supreme Court convicted her in the disproportionate assets case and sentenced 4-year jail term to her. Additionally, she has also been fined for Rs 10 crore.

Since she has already served almost six months in jail earlier, Sasikala will now serve the rest of her three years and six months sentence at the Parapanna Agrahara prison.
