Amid conflicting reports of a bus mishap in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, the state police has said that a bus of the school named in early reports, Gareeb Nawaz Academy of Manjakote, has not met with any accident and the children had returned to school unharmed.
“The district administration clarifies that Manjakote school bus has returned safely with no loss,” The Tribune quoted Deputy Commissioner Shahid Choudhary as saying.
“An accident has taken place in the region, at some other place, involving some other bus which is being verified,” he added.
Earlier reports suggested that a school bus carrying nearly 40 children plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district and said that many children were killed in the mishap. The school bus was plying from Manjagot in Rajouri to Peer Kee Gali.
