CISF jawans are patrolling the airport premises. Sources said that airport security agencies got the tip that terror groups might try to hijack a plane

“An email was sent by a woman who overheard 6 boys discussing a plan to simultaneously carry out hijacks from Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad airports,” said a source.

“A total of 23 people will be involved in the 3 hijacks which have been planned for Sunday,” the source added.

The gates of the Kamaraj domestic terminal, as well as the international terminal, have been closed and only passengers are allowed to enter. Officials told all the airlines to properly check the luggage of all the passengers.
