Shubhangi Swaroop becomes first woman to be inducted as a pilot in Indian Navy

Shubhangi is the daughter of a Naval commander and it was always her dream to fly as a pilot for the Indian Navy

For the first time in the history of the Indian Navy, a woman has been inducted as a pilot. And, Shubhangi Swaroop has achieved this feat. As reported by the Indian Express, Shubhangi belongs to Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly and will be flying Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft.

Shubhangi is the daughter of a Naval commander and it was always her dream to fly as a pilot for the Indian Navy.

As per the report, this is not the first time Indian Navy has inducted women officers. Astha Segal from New Delhi, Roopa A from Puducherry and Sakthi Maya S from Kerala have been first women officers at the Naval Armament Inspectorate (NAI) branch of the Navy.
