Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on December 22 announced that soon people will be able to locate toilets in their area using of Google Toilet Locator App .This announcement was made during Government’s calendar 2017 launch. The Minister further said that the initiative was taken under the government’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

According to the researches, almost 70 percent of Indian population do not have access to toilets and many people still defecate in open.
This toilet locator facility will come with an advantage that not only the public toilets run by government but also other rest rooms nearby(Malls, Metro stations, hospitals and petrol pumps) will be located by the app.
People will just have to open Google maps, type the keywords like toilets, Swachh Bharat or the likes and the restroom near them will be located.
M.Venkaiah Naidu who is serving as Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting made several other important announcements at the launch.
