Spurned lover kills two Jamia Millia students, later dumps body in Ghaziabad

Their decomposed bodies were recovered from a Canal in Masuri area of Ghaziabad on Saturday

Five days after two students from Jamia Milia Islamia suddenly disappeared from their home in Meerut,  their decomposed bodies were recovered from a Canal in Masuri area of Ghaziabad on Saturday. Both Babur (20) and Saddam (18) were pursuing Masters in Physiotherapy and on Monday have left for Delhi from their village Jasola in Meerut,  but they did not reach the national capital.

As they went missing, a complaint was filed with the police, after which three teams were set up in order to know about their whereabouts.

According to police, it’s a case of a love triangle as Babur had a relationship with a 20-year-old woman and she later got involved with another man from her village Haider.

Ajab Singh, Station House Officer (SHO), Mundali police station said,  “After getting to know about Haidar, Babar approached one Ayyub — a teacher at a small madrassa in Chijarsi, Noida. Ayyub promised to give Babar a ‘tabeez’ which would help his girlfriend come back to him.”

“Somehow, Haidar came to know about the ‘tabeez’ and got infuriated. He then offered Ayyub Rs 2 lakh and a piece of land if he informed him about the date and time when Babar came to collect the ‘tabeez’,” added Singh.

As told, both Saddam and Babbar came to collect the ‘tabeez‘ and were given sedatives, soon after which they lost conscious. Then Ayub and Haidar strangulated them to death.

Police said that accused were caught as they made ransom calls to their family members by using a phone of the victim which informed us about the location. Ayyub was arrested, however, Haider managed to escape and is on the run.
