On the day of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia when people across the globe are making efforts to raise awareness of violations of LGBTQ rights, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has equated “rascals” with “Lesbians and “homos”.
No, we are not making this up. A social media user who follows Subramanian Swamy tweeted to him what the situation would be like if the Rajya Sabha MP was a professor at the Harvard. Swamy, who has made outright atrocious remarks against the LGBTQ community in the past, asserted that “rascals, lesbians, homos, and left wing loonies” at the Harvard were to be blamed for dropping his course in the university.

For those who are not aware, in the year 2011, Harvard University dropped two courses in economics taught by Subramanian Swamy after he allegedly suggested to demolish hundreds of mosques in an opinion piece written by him. He had also asserted that Muslims should be given voting rights if they accept that their ancestors were Hindus. The senior BJP leader has a Ph.D in Economics from the university.
This was not the first time that Swamy had made such outrageous statements against the LGBT community. In 2015 also, Subramanian Swamy stunned everyone after he stated that homosexuals were “genetically handicapped.”
