The Supreme Court on Friday banned the sale of fire crackers in the Delhi-NCR region in wake of growing pollution. The court ordered that the licenses of all fire cracker sellers be suspended till further orders.
The apex court also asked the Central Pollution Control Board to file a reply within three months on the harmful effects of fire-crackers. “The ban on sale of fire crackers should be enforce from today onwards till further order or any hearing by the apex court,” the bench ordered.
The Supreme Court had been hearing petition filed by organisation on growing pollution level in Delhi-NCR region.
