Thanks to the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty, an Egyptian national who is apparently the world’s heaviest woman will be able to undergo a surgery in India.
Sushma Swaraj, who herself has been in the hospital for more than 25 days now, helped Abd El Aty obtain a medical visa so that she could fly down to India for her surgery. Abd El Aty’s doctor Muffi Lakdawala had tweeted out to the minister saying that the Indian embassy in Cairo had refused to give a visa to Abdulati who will not be able to move from her house and travel all the way to Cairo.
In fact, Abd El Aty has not stepped out of her house in Cairo for the past 20 years.

Sushma Swaraj was quick enough to respond to him and say that she will take care of it, which she did.

“I am mighty impressed with the promptness shown by the minister even though she is fighting kidney failure and is hospitalised. Thanks to her, Eman will now be in Mumbai by next week,” said Dr Lakdawala told My Media Mantra.
This comes just a day after she helped Jagannathan Selvaraj, an Indian man in Dubai who walked 1,000 kilometres for over two years just to attend court proceedings for being able to fly back home to Tamil Nadu. She made sure that he was brought back home and sent back to his village in India.
Sushma Swaraj is undergoing dialysis treatment at the AIIMS for Kidney failure. She is also likely to undergo a Kidney transplant any time this month.
