Seems like standard of education in the country is falling with each passing day. Here’s one more reason to believe it. Around 50% of the first year engineering students studying at the colleges affiliated to the Anna University in Tamil Nadu failed in the Physics exam.
This came to light after Anna University declared the result of the undergraduate and post-graduate courses last week. Around 1.08 lakh first year students took the physics exam this year which was conducted in April and May, out of which only 52,000 manage to pass the exam and remaining 47 % flunked the exam.
Situation was not very good in Maths and Chemistry either. Around 45 per cent of first year students failed in the Maths and 38 per cent in Chemistry. Around 1.09 lakh gave the Maths exam this year out of which only 60, 359 were able to clear the exam.
On the other hand, 1,08,769 appeared for the engineering chemistry exam out of which only 67, 940 could clear it, making the fail percentage around 37.54%.
