In a country like India where a politician’s popularity is determined by the number of controversial statements that he/she makes, it is difficult to expect them to keep a tab on their words. Just like every other year, 2017 witnessed some of the most ridiculous, bizarre and sexist statements made by our elected representatives which of course ran into controversies. From local MLAs to MPs, from union ministers to PM Modi, everyone generously contributed pearls of wisdom, to make this an eventful year. Here is a mashup of all such controversial statements that hogged the limelight in the entire year.
