In what is being termed as one of the worst attack in seven years, 25 CRPF personnel belonging to the ‘Delta’ 74 battalion were killed in an encounter with the Maoists in the Sukma area of Chhattisgarh on April 25. Additionally, six jawans are currently undergoing treatment in a hospital in Raipur.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee condemned the attack, Home Minister Rajnath Singh dubbed it as an “unfortunate” incident. Meanwhile, people across the social media demanded stern action against those responsible while saluting those brave soldiers who lost their lives in the incident. CRPF released the names and ranks of the martyrs.
