Pune woman Shital Mahajan set a new record on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian woman to skydive in a saree. The 35-year-old is a known adventurist with over 700 skydives under her belt. Mahajan, who has 5 world records and 17 national awards, was even conferred with a Padma Shri award.
“I wanted to prove that Indian women can not only carry the saree graciously in their routine lives, but can also use it for high adventure like skydiving,” Mahajan told IANS. She now hopes to skydive off of Mt Everest.
